Design
The new Chevy Trax is a completely redesigned model. Along with a longer and wider body, the Trax also has a fully updated interior. The cabin's material is what you'd expect from a compact SUV, but the rest of the interior really stands out. The longer wheelbase means there's more rear legroom than before, and its various amenities like a remote start, heated front seats and steering wheel, and a sunroof help liven up the vehicle.
Performance
Every trim of the Trax is powered by a turbocharged 1.2-liter 137-hp three-cylinder engine. The engine is attached to a six-speed automatic transmission and uses front-wheel drive. And according to the EPA, the Trax is quite fuel efficient, with an estimated 28 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway.
Technology
With a lower driving position, the Chevy Trax feels more like a car than an SUV. But that's not a bad thing. And along with a new driving position, the Trax also features new technology. Inside models like the LS and 1RS, drivers will find an eight-inch infotainment touchscreen. However, in trims like the LT, an 11.0-inch infotainment touchscreen and an eight-inch gauge cluster are standard. Additionally, there are features such as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless phone charger, and a Wi-Fi hotspot.
Safety
When driving down the highway or around town, the new Chevy Trax will keep you safe thanks to its suite of safety features called Chevy Safety Assist. Found in this suite of safety features are automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high beams.
Trax LS
Riding on 17-inch steel wheels, the LS is a reasonably well-equipped model offering LED headlights, an eight-inch infotainment screen, and a Wi-Fi hotspot.
Trax 1RS
The 1RS adds to the LS design with new visual flares and added technology. Along with 18-inch alloy wheels, the 1RS offers a revised front & rear fascia and a heated flat-bottom steering wheel. Additionally, there's the 1RS also has all the features offered in the LS Convenience package.
Trax LT
The LT builds off the LS trim with new amenities such as automatic climate control, an 11-inch touchscreen, and a six-speaker audio system. Also available are 17-inch alloy wheels and roof rails.
Trax 2RS
This sporty trim offering features from the LT Convenience package. The 2RS also sits on 19-inch alloy wheels and has keyless entry, heated/power-adjustable mirrors, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel.
Trax Activ
